General guidelines: NEED IMAGES

After the equipment has been installed, it’s time to turn it on and load the software.

Pre-requisite:

  • Have credentials for TeamViewer app via 1Password app.
  • Have credentials for the venue’s POS login via admin.smarttab.com

Steps

  1. Turn on the POS.
  2. On the bottom left of the screen you’ll see a blue button (start/menu) with a letter K on it, click on it. Scroll down to Utilities and drag the Virtual Keyboard app to the desktop.
  3. Go back to the blue button and in the search field type in Smarttab. Once found drag and drop the SmartTab app onto the desktop.
  4. Click on the SmartTab app once, you’ll see an option to enlarge the app icon. Click and hold on the enlarge icon and move your mouse or finger down to the right to enlarge the icon.
  5. Go to the blue button and in the search field type in Firefox. Click on the FireFox app. You should now have an open web browser, in the address bar type in “www.smarttab.com/installer.run” and hit enter.
  6. You will get a prompt asking you to download a file. Go ahead and download the file.
  7. Click the blue button and click on File Manager>Downloads.
  8. You will find the file you just downloaded. Right click the file and click Properties>Permissions. Check the box that gives permissions to execute the file and click apply.
*****IF YOU DON’T HAVE A MOUSE TO RIGHT CLICK HAVE YOUR VIRTUAL KEYBOARD UP AND HIGHLIGHT THE FILE BY TOUCHING AND HOLDING ANYWHERE IN THE FOLDER AND DRAGGING THE HIGHLIGHT BOX OVER THE FILE AND THEN ON YOUR VIRTUAL KEYBOARD TOUCHING THE MENU BUTTON ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT****
  9. In the Downloads folder, click on the file and run the install.
  10. Once installed, it will ask you for the venue's login credentials, go ahead and enter them.
Note: Use the Merchant’s email address associated with the venue. Password is 123456
It will ask you what the name of the station is. Name it according to the location and type of station it is. *For example….The station I installed is at the back bar, I would name it “Back.bar.15” but let's say there are 2 stations one on the left and one on the right. If I installed the one on the right i’d name it “Back.bar.right.15”
  11. (Once the Master Station has been installed and set up) You will get a prompt asking if it’s a Slave or Master station. Select Slave and it will ask what the master station’s IP address is. Type in 172.16.1.30. Proceed.
  12. Once the Slave station connects to the Master station the POS software will be up and ready for use.
  13. Once the software is up, hit the top left corner power button and select “Exit Desktop”
  14. Once on the desktop, in the blue button menu search for TeamViewer. Once found go ahead drag and drop it to the desktop. (The reason you do this after the SmartTab app install is to ensure you get the most recent TeamViewer version)
  15. Once TeamViewer has been moved to the desktop, hit the “New Activity” button on the top right corner and select “Lock Widgets”
  16. Click on the TeamViewer app to open it. On the top left side click Connections>Setup unattended access.
  17. It will ask you to name the computer, name it accordingly to the credentials provided to you and the type of station you installed *For example... I installed at Press Club and the station I installed was a 15 and it’s located in the back bar on the right side.I would name it “pressclubsf-backbar-right-15” (For station naming in SmartTab app use dots without venue name, for TeamViewer use dashes with venue name in front)
  18. Type in the password which is “illumin8” proceed by hitting next and click where it says “I already have a TeamViewer Account” and type in the credentials that are provided in the 1Password app.
  19. Once you’ve successfully logged in to TeamViewer you want to make sure you sign out.
  20. Congratulations, you have successfully installed the necessary software to onsite POS Terminals!
